    On the east coast, Boston is a Lincolnshire small port and town, north of London by approximately (160 km) 100 miles. Of the wider Boston government district, it is the town that is largest.     Said to be the largest parish church in England, Boston's notable landmark is St Botolph's Church ("The Stump"), visible for miles around from the flat lands of Lincolnshire. When the dock on The Haven with its associated wharves were constructed, Boston again in 1884 became a significant port in fishing and trade. In the detective novels of Colin Watson, Boston is assumed to be the prototype for Flaxborough.
